Samsung Galaxy Note 7 News

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is now permanently discontinued

    Team MKP - 11 October 16

Sad news for all Samsung smartphone lovers. Samsung has officially called off their latest phablet, the Galaxy Note 7 after receiving repetitive explosion complaints. The decision is permanent. They have discontinued the device across the globe.

The company has released a release urging all retailers and other partners to stop sales and distribution of the smartphone. “We remain committed to working diligently with appropriate regulatory authorities to take all necessary steps to resolve the situation.” said Samsung in a statement.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 got rave reviews from the experts claiming it to be one of the best phablet so far. But within days of sale, the Note7 caught fire and gradually almost 35 cases had been reported. Then, Samsung issued an official recall of the device and parked their sales in several countries including India.

Samsung issued new devices with an updated battery pack with a green battery indicator. But the replacement device also caught fire in an airline. So, with subsequent catching fire issue, the company has taken a bold step by stopping its production permanently.

No plans about how to retrieve already sold Note 7 across the globe has been disclosed. We have to wait for some more time to know the recall status.
